Finally, An Egg From Goldie!

abigail_eggWe finally got an egg from Goldie today, she was the last one that has not laid any eggs yet since we got the chickens back in October.

Goldie is the chicken that Abigail picked out, so you can imagine how happy she was when she found that that her chicken had laid an egg today. “Daddy, can you take a picture of me and my egg?”, asked Abigail while holding the egg.

Although we are supposed to be getting 4 eggs now, but we’ve only gotten three eggs a day so far.

Conversation With A Three Year Old

About five months ago, Coby had a conversation with Abigail when she was two year old (click here to read). Today, Coby had another one of those conversation with Abigail, but now she is three years old and this took place right after finishing their first reading lesson and Abigail wants to get Christiana;

coby_small Okay, are you all done?

Yah, because I’m distracted

abigail_small
coby_small Distracted?

Reading Time With Grandma

I have to say, this is a very rare moment to see Grandma read a story book to Abigail. I love to see the two of them just sat on the couch, Grandma was reading and Abigail was just listening while sucking her thumb.

Happy Birthday Abigail!

IMG_2226

Today is Abigail’s big day, she turns three years old! Happy birthday to you Abigail! I can’t believe she is three years old. We had a small party with our close friends and the weather was a perfect ‘fall-liked’ weather to be able to do piñata outside.

Today is also a big day for this blog, we started this blog exactly a year ago on Abigail’s birthday.

“I Hold Her Myself, Mommy!”

Abigail is such a ‘two year old’, she wants to do everything herself. She even wants to hold Christiana while standing up, on her own, “I hold her myself, I can hold her myself Mommy!” We let her hold Christiana on her own for a split second, or at least long enough to take this picture.IMG_2196

What You Can Do With An iPhone – Part 3

I love this app ColorSplash from iTunes App Store for the iPhone. I can convert any photos to black and white while keeping chosen details in color. Normally you would do things like this using Photoshop, but now you can do it on your iPhone in a much simpler way. Let me know what you think!

What You Can Do With An iPhone – Part 2

IMG_0180

This is a photo of Abigail which I converted using a combination of two applications within the iPhone; Photogene ($2.99 to download the app from iTunes) and Photonasis (Free app from iTunes).

Today marks the anniversary of one of the saddest days in our nation’s history. 36 years ago the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade that women have the constitutional right to end the lives of their unborn children. This was a victory for abortion extremists and other enemies of life. Let’s pray that the end of abortion will end soon – God Help Us!

Flashback to Weekend of Thanksgiving 2007

I was thinking about what happened last year on Thanksgiving weekend at our house. We were sitting around having a relaxing weekend, no shopping mall crowds, no traffic, no airport crowds, just our family. The girls were doing their own things somewhere in our bedroom. Coby was on the phone. Shortly after, I noticed Abigail was chewing on something in her mouth. And I asked what she was eating and she opened her mouth and saw a "watch" type battery (another name: button battery). I took the one battery out off her mouth and very proudly I showed Coby what I had found from her mouth.

We were both wondering where she found this battery from, until we noticed it was from a book light in our bedroom. However this book light uses "three" of these button batteries... so, "where are the other two batteries?", asked Coby. We look and look everywhere, under the bed, under the dressers, in the garbage cans, under the sofa, under the chairs... the two batteries were no where to be found.

To make a long story short, we ended up spending the rest of the day in the emergency room, because we had heard horror stories, (click here) or (here) about a child from Atlanta swallowing a watch battery and it exploded in the stomach and died. After the x-ray, sure thing, the two batteries were in Abigail's stomach. Abigail was given a laxative and had to have several more x-rays to make sure the batteries were moving accordingly through her stomach and intestines and eventually she passed it the day after.

Talk about nerve racking! The picture above is her x-ray and you can see the two white dots were the batteries located in her body. When I told the colleagues at my work, they were saying how she is a "gloworm", so I came up with the picture below.

Abigail and Gabriela Dancing Away.

This is really cute! Abigail is following every steps her big sister is doing, even the bobbing of the head. The quality of the video is not the greatest, but I think you can see these two dancing away. Enjoy and let me know what you think in the comment section.
