The Feast Of All Saints

all-saints

Happy feast of All Saints to all!

This year our family is celebrating All Saints two days in a row, on Sunday and Monday.

On Sunday with the homeschool group and on Monday, on the actual Feast Day, we are celebrating it with the community in Hanceville. We skipped Halloween this year!

Children came dressed as their favorite Saints and they had to tell a short story about the Saints while the crowd guessed who the Saints are. Could you guess who our little saints are?All_Saints

You probably will not be able to guess who Christiana is supposed to be . . . so I’ll give you a hint . . .
She was born in Lourdes.

Christiana didn’t want to wear the veil and she didn’t want to carry the bundle of woods that her sisters had collected . . . what do you expect . . . she is almost 2 years old.

Good Job Fr. Miguel!

We are back from our vacation/business trip! Sweet home Alabama . . . hot, humid and muggy . . . I almost forget what it’s like being in Alabama during this time.

If you have not been to the EWTN website lately, you should check it out now, Fr. Miguel (Michael’s brother) is on the front page of the website. My guess is they put this up for the Feast of the Corpus Christi celebrating the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist this Sunday. It’s a powerful feast day and powerful image! Good job Fr. Miguel!FMM

Solemnity Of The Annunciation Of The Lord

beato23

The Solemnity of the Annunciation, March 25, is one of the most important in the Church calendar. It celebrates the actual Incarnation of Our Savior the Word made flesh in the womb of His mother, Mary. Happy Feast to Everyone!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day - Is For All Of Us!

k1028713 St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, whose holiday is celebrated today throughout the world by people who often have little understanding of all that he stood for and accomplished. It’s not just about green beer and green river!

Happy Feast of the Assumption!

Today was a big day for our family, we celebrated the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary by having a sort of kind of family reunion. We didn't plan this family reunion, but it certainly felt like one. My parents had moved here from California, my brother, Albert and his family came last Saturday from California and Father Miguel spent a day with all of us. We had a private Mass celebrated by Father Miguel in the Friary chapel, we took our family photo, we played tennis a little bit . . . we laughed a lot! It was definitely a day to remember for a long time.
Taking the family photo was so much fun. Imagine, trying to make Abigail smile, it was very hard! This is by the way coming from a two year old that always goes around the house looking cute asking her mommy or daddy to take a picture of her while she has the biggest smile on her face. It was easier to make Father Miguel laugh then Abigail to smile. But we did it, I think we cracked a smile out of Abigail in maybe two of the shots!
