Good Job Fr. Miguel!

We are back from our vacation/business trip! Sweet home Alabama . . . hot, humid and muggy . . . I almost forget what it’s like being in Alabama during this time.

If you have not been to the EWTN website lately, you should check it out now, Fr. Miguel (Michael’s brother) is on the front page of the website. My guess is they put this up for the Feast of the Corpus Christi celebrating the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist this Sunday. It’s a powerful feast day and powerful image! Good job Fr. Miguel!FMM

Or by a horse buggy

Or by one of these, and I have no idea what they call it!

Or by an old classical car, which is my favorite! Only for $63

But, I did it the original ways . . . by foot and it’s free!cz

Live From Prague, Czech Republic

Right now I am on a business trip to the Czech Republic after our trip to Canada. I flew out from Detroit on Saturday and arrived in Prague, Czech Republic today on Sunday morning. I was concerned about not being able to go to Mass on Sunday due to the time of my arrival, but God was good and thank you for all of you who are praying for me that I will find Mass in Prague.
St. Joseph Church was just around the corner from my hotel and I went to the 5 o’clock Mass. Thank you St. Joseph!

IMG_0024It was an older and simple church and it sit in the middle of town right next to the LARGEST Shopping Mall in Czech Republic, called Palladium. So as you can imagine, all the young people were at the shopping mall, and the older folks were at Mass. Although the church was full, it would’ve been nice to see some younger people in there. They still use the  communion rails and everyone kneel down on the communion rails while the Priest distributed communions.

The Real Muskoka Experience

The weather was perfect last Wednesday (June 3), sun shine but a bit cooler! With the generosity of Coby’s parents we (Coby & I and Christiana) went on a lunch cruise aboard Wenonah II sailing on Lake Muskoka.IMG_0942 blogbackGraceSpeed It was a great 2 ½ hour cruise with fancy dining and beautiful scenery. “If you think you know Muskoka . . . it’s time to get real” - The real Muskoka experience.

We absolutely love it! It will certainly fade away any stress you might have.

We also enjoyed looking at the million dollar lake homes from the ship.

blog2 My deepest gratitude goes to Coby’s Mom and Dad for arranging this beautiful cruise for us and for watching the other 3 girls while we sailed the Wenonah II. Thank you Mom & Dad!

Weekly Joke - Ten Dollars Is Ten Dollars

carnival A man and a woman go to the carnival every year. Every time the man says,"Anna can we ride them airplanes that goes up for a couple of minutes then comes back down?"

The woman always replied by saying,"We don’t need to spend any extra money on them airplanes, its to expensive.Ten dollars is ten dollars.

Tom, the pilot, said, “Larry, every year I hear you say you want to ride my airplanes, and every year Anna says it’s too expensive. I’ll make you a deal, if I do all of my flips and tricks with you in there with me, and you don’t say one word, I’ll give you the ride for free.
DSC_0153Anna and Larry discussed it and decided they would take the deal. They got up in the air and Tom did all of his tricks and flips.

Tom said, "Larry I just knew you`d say something on that first flip, but you didn’t!

Larry replied, “I was going to say something when Anna fell out, but ten dollars is ten dollars.

Rain, Rain, Go Away, Please Come Back Another Day

The weather is lousy in Canada, rain, rain, rain, snow, cold, more rain, the temperature is about 9⁰Celsius (48⁰F), this is a winter temperature for us Alabamian. But we are still enjoying the vacation and having fun in Canada.

IMG_0858 Our second stop in Canada was at Coby’s brother in Bailieboro. The rain stopped for about an hour or so and the girls were able to ride ‘Wilbur’ the pony.

IMG_0904 IMG_0871

IMG_0898We made it to Bracebridge, Canada last Thursday and the mosquitoes and black flies welcomed us by the hundreds. I think there were more mosquitoes in Bracebridge than in the whole State of Alabama.

IMG_0924On Saturday the day before Pentecost Sunday, we had some  sun and a little bit warmer weather. I think the high was at 65⁰ Fahrenheit. We got to play outside and rode four wheelers. But on Sunday, shortly after Mass, it started snowing. We thought the Holy Spirit was supposed to be in a form of tongue of fire. IMG_0916

No Internet Access, No Blog!

Internet access is very limited at Coby’s parents house, which is no connection at all! But (we) I am surviving, this is why I had to go to the “Oliver’s coffee house”, and use their free Wi-Fi access for a little bit to check all my emails and do this quick blog.

Weather in Bracebridge is very cold at the moment, in fact yesterday we had snow. Go figure . . . friends of ours told us it is very hot in Alabama.flgs

No pictures yet this time, but I will post some later on this week.

Day 2 – Made It To Lucan, Canada!

The overnight stayed in front of Wal Mart in Dayton, Ohio was good. We didn’t wake up to chirping birds, but to the noise  of ‘a parking lot sweeping truck’. Although it was really neat to watch it from the bedroom window of the RV.

We drove another 6 hours and made it to Lucan around three in the afternoon with no problem. Going through the border was a piece of cake as well.

So far so good thank you for all your prayers!

Day 3 – We will be driving to Bailie Boro this morning, another 4 hour drive and hope I won’t forget to take some pictures this time.

Day 1- Overnight In Front Of Wal Mart In Dayton, Ohio

Our road trip started today, on Sunday at 7 in the morning and we made it all the way to Dayton, Ohio. The girls did well in the RV, thank goodness for DVD player!
We stopped couple of times for gas and dinner and drove for about ten hours.

When we arrived at one of the rest area, the girls were so tired from sitting, they came out and threw themselves on the ground (parking lot curb) and pretended to be sleeping.

It was too hot to eat inside the RV, and it was to sunny to eat at the picnic table, the curb was the only place that was cool enough to eat because of the shade from the RV.

Found this interesting moth at Wal Mart's parking lot. The wing span was about 8 to 10 inches long.

Canada . . . Here We Come

flgs In a few days we will be driving up to Canada to visit Coby’s family. This will be our first road trip using the RV, so please keep us in your prayers. We will be visiting some old friends along the way to Canada and on the way back. I will try to blog remotely using my iPhone, and maybe we will see some interesting things and places along the way.northfalls

mooseMaybe we will see a moose . . . or maybe we won’t! But for sure we will have a good time!

We’ll keep you posted!

Weekly Joke - Government Purchasing Specifications

1. All pipe is to be made of a long hole, surrounded by metal or  plastic centered around the hole.

2. All pipe is to be hollow throughout the entire length - do not use holes of different length than the pipe.

3. The I.D. (inside diameter) of all pipe must not exceed the O.D. (outside diameter) - otherwise the hole will be on the outside.

4. All pipe is to be supplied with nothing in the hole so that water, steam or other stuff can be put inside at a later date.

5. All pipe should be supplied without rust - this can be more readily applied at the job site. Steel-Pipe

N.B. Some Vendors are now able to supply pre-rusted pipe. If available in your area, this product is recommended as it will save a lot of time on the job site.

6. All pipe over 500ft (153m) in length should have the words "long pipe" clearly painted on each end, so the Contractor will know it is a long pipe.

7. Pipe over 2 miles (3.2km) in length must have the words "long pipe" painted in the middle, so the Contractor will not have to walk the entire length of the pipe to determine whether or not it is a long pipe.

8. All pipe over 6" (152mm) in diameter must have the words "large pipe" painted on it, so the Contractor will not mistake it for small pipe.

9. Flanges must be used on all pipe. Flanges must have holes for bolts quite separate from the big hole in the middle.

10. When ordering 90 degrees, 45 degrees or 30 degrees elbow, be sure to specify right hand or left hand; otherwise you will end up going the wrong way.

11. Be sure to specify to your vendor whether you want level, uphill or downhill pipe. If you use downhill pipe for going uphill, the water will flow the wrong way.

Seamless-Steel-Pipes12. All couplings should have either right hand or left hand thread, but do not mix the threads - otherwise, as the coupling is being screwed on one pipe, it is unscrewed from the other.
