Sushi Night

The other night I made some sushi, but it didn't come out as good as I wanted to. I think it's because the rice was under cooked. It's just hard to believe that I actually messed up on the rice. I'm supposed to be the expert in making the rice. When I rolled the sushi the rice kept falling apart and it wasn't sticking to the nori really well. But it was still fun making them and Coby has enjoyed having sushi again. Gabriela told me she wants to make some sushi when Grandma and Grandpa are here and she was watching every move I made, and she was taking mental notes, and putting into words the process she would follow: "step one, dip my fingers into the bowl of water", "step two, take the rice and spread them out to the edges of the nori", "step three, sprinkle sesame seeds", "step four, turn over the nori and I have to be careful with the rice, because it's falling apart". Anyway, it was really funny to hear it. It's like having a commentator that gives you a play-by-play move.

Look, my new hat!

Abigail is being cute again. She put her pajama pants on her head and goes around the house while saying, "look, my new hat", "I have a new hat".

Making sushi

Michael has a new hobby: he loves making sushi. Who would've thought, is it the rice thing? No, I didn't learn it from "SUSHI for Dummies" book. I picked up a few tips from the internet, yes the internet and standing in front of the sushi bar at Publix.

Next time we will have to take some pictures when I make sushi again (at least twice a week). When I have my Japanese kimono to wear.

In the meantime, here's a picture of final product for proof. Well, some of you may not believe that I do know how to make sushi. They are delicious.
