How Fast They Grow

Since it was such a nice day, we went to the Arboretum in Tuscaloosa today. We like to visit this place every now and then for a hike and enjoying nature. Three years ago we took a couple of photos of Gabriela and Rebecca sitting on a white patio chair and today we took the same type of photos while they were sitting on the same chairs, and we were amazed to see how much they have grown since then.

Abigail has been recruited to sit in the chair for the photo op and we will compare it three years from now.

From Jack-O-Lanterns to Saint-O-Lanterns

We started this tradition at our home a year ago for Halloween. We carved pumpkins with heavenly themes. This year Gabriela chose a “Marian” theme, Rebecca chose “Sacred Heart of Jesus”, and Abigail chose “Saint Joan of Arc’s shield”. Carving Saint-O-Lantern is fun and more meaningful than just a typical scary looking jack-o-lantern! The idea was taken from "A Year with God, Celebrating the Liturgical Year - Little Way Press" Distributed by Catholic Heritage Curricula

Chicago trip with Gabriela.

Congratulations to Jamie and Mary Hill on their wedding! Gabriela and I had the pleasure to attend their wedding in Chicago last weekend. It was a very quick and tiring trip for the two of us but we had such a wonderful time in Chicago. It was a beautiful father and daughter weekend.

Between the wedding Mass and reception, we went to Legoland. The photo below you will see in front of Legoland they have a BIG size giraffe made of legos. And the man where Gabriela sitting next too is also made of legos (check out the hole on his sock).

October 2nd - The Feast of the Guardian Angels - Happy Anniversary To My Dear Wife!

Today is the feast of the Guardian Angels and our 9th wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary Coby and I love you! Thank you for being such an "everything" wife and a great mother. What can I say except, I love you, I love you and I love you!

I still remember the day, 9 years ago, together we said "yes I do!" Such small words made such big impact in our life. I love you my dear Cobs, thank you for the gift of your love!

Camping at Lake Guntersville

It was for the weekend only, we arrived on Friday night and came back Sunday afternoon. It was quick and to the point and we had so much fun. The girls wished we could've stayed longer, but nevertheless they were happy. We played in the playground, we swam in the lake, we went biking, we went fishing. Rebecca caught a fish again, she was the only one that caught a fish this time. Daddy was too busy un-tangling the fishing lines, hooking the worm, re-hooking the worm and hooking the worm. Gabriela was convinced that it was because her worm wasn't wiggling, why she wasn't catching any fish.

We saw a lot of deer around the camping area and they come right up to you and not afraid of us at all. I think they feel safe being around the camp ground, because no one will shoot at them.

We've camped at Lake Guntersville twice now and we really enjoy coming here! Looks like this is going to be an annual event on Gabriela's birthday.

This is really cute! Abigail is following every steps her big sister is doing, even the bobbing of the head. The quality of the video is not the greatest, but I think you can see these two dancing away. Enjoy and let me know what you think in the comment section.

Happy Birthday Gabriela!

Today is Gabriela's 7th birthday! I can't believe she is 7 years old. I still remember the day she was born 7 years ago at 9:27 pm, we were so thrilled and happy she came into this world, what a great miracle that was! To celebrate her birthday, I have put together a photo collage of Gabriela when she was a little baby. Happy birthday Gabriela, we love you!

And the baby is . . .

Today we all went to the doctor with Coby for an ultrasound and to find out what the gender of the baby is. We have been waiting for this day for a long time. The doctor told us the baby is healthy and doing very well . He was quite pleased with the progress of the pregnancy. Thanks be to God! We are half way through our pregnancy, please keep praying for us, especially for Coby and the baby!
The moments we have been waiting for since we found out we were pregnant, we are having . . . another girl! We are very excited about this and the girls are just thrilled to have another sister. They are already planning who she is going to sleep with.

We are doing something fun to come up with a name for the baby, there's a poll on the left column with some selections of names you can vote from now until sometime in January 2009 (couple of days before the baby's born), or if you don't like any of the names, you can submit via the comments with a name suggestion.

More Prayers are Needed for the McCain-Palin Ticket!

It's started already, the other side didn't wait too long trying to smear Sarah Palin and her family. But let's not worry, let's not focus on all the negative publicities but focus on the good things that will happen. Let's pray harder, offer more sacrifices for this intention. My brother told me last week, "Our Lady might have Her hands on Palin to be a candidate for Vice President during this 150th Anniversary of Lourdes Apparition. Sarah Palin's birth date is February 11th, and the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is February 11th as well". Interesting isn't it? Anyway, how ever you want to look at it... I know what we have to do... pray, pray, pray!

God gives us hope with Sarah Palin!

We want to turn to politics a little bit, because we are so excited that John McCain has picked Sarah Palin for running mate - Vice President.
This is big . . . we got a pro-life conservative running for Vice President. Finally, there's hope for us. Sarah Palin is:
* Pro-life
* A reformer
* A Strong conservative
* Understands and lives family values
* Young, pretty, very feminine (no pants suit!), she is a Mom and loves her family. These are just some things the feminists hate!)
Let's face it, she is our hope in November and the next 4 years.

Here's what we have to do from now until November, keep praying for her and her family that God will protect them. The liberal media (and BIG red) will find ways to destroy her and her family.

I can open it myself!

I'm not trying to make this blog to be an "Abigail" blog, but I just couldn't help it and plus she is 2 years old. We went to chinese buffet yesterday for dinner and Abigail was determined she was going to open the fortune cookie wrapper on her own. I took this picture trying to capture her expression and her fortune described her too well . . . "You create your own stage and your audience is waiting!"
How perfect is that fortune!
